Grattan Institute is a leading Australian public policy think tank known for its rigorous, evidence-based research and practical recommendations. Grattan’s Education Program has a strong track record of influencing national education policy. Recent publications include reports on boosting reading and maths outcomes, curriculum planning and school system reform.

With over 15 years of policy research and engagement, Grattan’s Education Program has positioned itself as a leading voice on school education policy, with a strong focus on disrupting complacency.

The program is led by Dr Jordana Hunter, a nationally recognised education policy expert. Through Grattan’s Education Program, Dr Hunter focuses on high-impact reforms in teacher quality, curriculum design, and system governance.

A grant from Helen Macpherson Smith Trust supports targeted interventions in Victoria. The support reflects the Trust’s commitment to evidence-based initiatives that address educational inequity and improve outcomes for children across Victoria.
